EDIT: Topic Title Edited to make this thread applicable to the 203/14 Season

Look who showed up in the Oakland Zoo at the City Game (Pitt vs. Duqesne) last week:

Was Chris Hansen around? :unsure:/>/>/>

I guess the Duquesne fans were not pleased about his favoritism. :D/>/>/>

BTW, Pitt still on the outside of the Top 25 Rankings at 27.

I am completely fine with his Pitt favortism.

I don't want him ruining Duquesne with his stink.

I figured you'd be OK with it. BTW, even with the loss to PItt, the Dukes aren't off to too bad of a start under new coach Jim Ferry (5-4 in the non conference games)

Big game for the Dukes against WVU tonight. Keep DB away, amirite?

Robert Morris doing OK too, at 6-4 so far. PSU, at 5-4.

About the only thing I can be happy and cheer about for the winter. :unsure:/>
Let's see if they make the big dance and then bow out AGAIN in the 1st or 2nd round. Need to make it to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 or else all the locals will just say it's another failed season. AGAIN.

Got some mediocre competition coming up and then the BIG ones:

I take it you're a Hoosiers fan?
We've got one of your own living and working here as our head men's BB coach. :)

Oh. My bad. I thought, since you lived in Indiana and all.

We've got Steve Alford, an Indiana born and raised guy, as our coach. Played under Bobby Knight and whatnot. Our Men's BB team never gets past the 2nd round of the Big Dance.
Maybe this is the year?

Football's what killed it. In BBall they were once the strongest conference in the country..

That's where the bigger money is, and money talks. The ACC is going to be the new Big East in many respects (except for the Caholic BB schools). It's not going to be like the old Big East BB wise, but it's not going to be too shabby either.

Heh. I guess I shouldn't complain then. :P

UNM makes the big dance usually every other year or so. Usually squeaks by in the first round then gets trounced by a mid level school from out east.
If this team ever made the Sweet 16 and got some extra recruits from out east, it'd put this place on the map.

The PIT is such a great venue. Can't wait until we host a Sweet 16 round again.
