2010 first-round pick Beau Bennett is sidelined after having successful surgery Thursday to repair a ruptured tendon in his wrist. He will miss a minimum of 6-8 weeks and will be re-evaluated at that point.

Bennett, a sophomore with the University of Denver, originally injured his wrist during practice Oct. 26 and missed four games. He returned to the lineup Nov. 12.

The Gardena, California native has 13 points (4G-9A) in 10 games this season for DU. He has 38 points (13G-25A) in 47 career games with the Pioneers.




The injury bug goes all the way to the college ranks. At least it's not a concussion. By the stats, seems like he was having a decent season. 1.3 points per game.

You never know if he decides to scratch his head with a cast on and BAM!!! concussion.

Pens won't be able to see Beau "Knows" Bennett play while they're in Denver. He's been out since December with a wrist injury, plus no DU games scheduled at home.

I was surpised to see Troy Loney's kid, Ty, is on DU. He's a freshman forward.

Dude is 6'-3" and 195lbs.




Pens are actually practicing at DU's rink.

According to Mark Madden, the Pens signed Bennett to a 3-year entry level deal today.
