Obviously, you are another transplanted ex-Penn Hills guy like billvill. I currently live in PH and my son goes there. He plays every Friday at the football games, but not he doesn't hit anyone. He plays in the band. {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif

Anyhow, Penn Hills is going to have their hands full with Gateway this week. They'll probably have their first conference loss. However, the playoffs are more than likely. With Plum, Fox Chapel, Kiski, and a weak Woodland Hills team (this year), it shouldn't be a problem.

Kent State is the Golden Flashes. I can't think of a local high school team with that name.

Might have been it. My only memory of Swissvale was wresting against them and making my opponent cry. Even before the movie that coined the phrase, I thought to myself..."There's no crying in wrestling" {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif

We have a Golden Tornado team up here... It's Franklin NH. Pelham smoked them 48-0 this year. Yes I am a transplanted PH guy. Been up here for 20 yrs now. AND... as hockey season gets into full swing you will see more posts from me but probably more on hs wrestling. I was just hired as the hs coach in little ole Pelham NH. Man... these don't have a clue what's in store for them. They are going to get a good dose of Western PA wrestling!

Good luck with your wrestling team. BTW, Penn Hills no longer has a hockey team which really is a shame. Not enough interest, believe it or not.

Thanks. That's too bad about the hockey team... it was just too expensive when I was in hs.Not many kids played. Their wrestling team has really gone downhill too. We used to have 50-65 guys and last year I think they had 17 including a girl. I think she's a senior this year.

According to my son, there was a girl on the team, but he doesn't know how well she did. He said she graduated, but he thinks there is another girl this year.
