John Kerry to Be Nominated to Be Secretary of State, Sources Say

Sources tell ABC News that President Obama has decided that he will nominate Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., to be secretary of state.
For a variety of reasons including the finalization of the process, other pending Cabinet decisions, and more immediately the national reaction to the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the news will not be announced in the next few days.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is recovering from an illness and a concussion she suffered upon fainting because of that illness, is set to retire in the next few weeks.

I left the military the first chance I could when Obama won in 2008 and with this nomination, my decision is again justified.

Enjoy this country America's enemies, it's all yours.

Lurch as SoS?
Interesting call. Administration needs to step up and make some real progress. They'll have 8 years total at the end. Things better change for the good of the nation. Otherwise, house cleaning time.

The House and Senate should be cleaned anyways.

Term limits for all.

You mean those old guys (and ladies) that have been there for 25+ years that are "still connected to modern society"?

The only ones that will find a term limit would be those that voluntarily do so. They'll never limit themselves via vote. Maybe I'm cynical at this point?

Hey bill, am I reading correctly that Scott Brown is running for Kerry's soon to be vacated seat and he's leading?

Why didn't Massachusetts just let him keep his own seat?

Ugh. That lady. Just no.

As for the current situation, srsly, who thought this would be a good idea? Pull out of a decade long war only to try to get into another one in a much "hotter" and detrimental zone, potentially fighting along side "rebels" that were being paid to fight you in Afghanistan and/or Iraq? GTFO.

Congress: GTFO.
